A quality system should support decisions
ISO 9001 and EN 9100 should not be reduced to a collection of documents. They provide a framework to control processes, risks, customer requirements and evidence of conformity.
ISO 9001 and EN 9100
ISO presents the ISO 9000 family through principles such as customer focus, leadership involvement, the process approach and continual improvement. For an SME, the system should connect those principles to daily decisions: accepting an order, qualifying a supplier, changing a definition or treating a nonconformity.
IAQG describes 9100 as a quality management system standard for aviation, space and defence organisations, where risk management, configuration, traceability and product integrity are particularly important.
